Coach Janice has coached college volleyball for over thirty years and has many distinguished career accomplishments. She began coaching at the Community College level for one year, then spent nine years at the University of Nebraska at Omaha NCAA Division II level and finished her collegiate coaching career as the head coach of the University of Maryland Terrapins Division I program for 20 years.

She led four teams into the Division II National Championship, won 10 career conference titles, and was recognized 6 times both for Conference and Region Coach of the Year honors. Her peers honored her success in coaching by voting her twice as the NCAA Division II American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) National Coach of the Year. As the Head Coach for the University of Maryland, including five ACC titles, seven trips to the NCAA Tournament, AVCA Region Coach of the Year honors, and a top spot among all-time winning-est coaches in ACC Volleyball history.

With an impressive track record at both Maryland and her previous school, University of Nebraska at Omaha, coach Janice has been described as one of the most elite women’s volleyball coaches in the country.  On Nov. 30, 2023, Coach Janice was recognized and inducted into the UNO Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2023. Coach Janice has several former players coaching Division 1-level volleyball and is an invaluable resource to ECE in our efforts to expose our players to as many recruiting opportunities as possible.
