ECE Coach – David Dai

ECE

Coach David started playing competitive volleyball in 8th grade. He played setter for the Richard Montgomery varsity boy’s team and won the Montgomery County Championships in 2009.  After high school, he continued to play competitively for UMBC‘s club and CYC. During that time, he helped coach Richard Montgomery girl’s varsity team and aided ECE Club Director Joy as a counselor in her volleyball clinics.

As a coach, David is passionate about the biomechanics and dynamic motions of volleyball. His training philosophy focuses on developing the mind-body connection between internal (biomechanics / dynamics) and external cues (physics feedback / outcome). Through this effort, Coach David focuses on understanding optimum body positioning, sequencing, and reinforcement learning.

As a player, David enjoys different types of volleyball including 9man, reverse coed, and grass doubles.
