Carolyn began her volleyball career as a setter, defensive specialist, and outside/right side hitter playing for the Hanau High School Panthers in Hanau, Germany from 1987-1992 (middle and high school). During this time, Carolyn was selected to numerous “All European” teams and was named MVP two years straight. After high school, she attended Christopher Newport University where she decided to become a member of the track and field team. Soon after, Carolyn joined the U.S. Air Force where she played on numerous Installation and Regional teams, both stateside and overseas, as a player and a coach.

Carolyn began her high school coaching at Governor Tomas Johnson HS where she was the JV coach for the 2014 season. The last three years have been at Oakdale high school where she was the Assistant Varsity Coach (2015) and Head JV Coach (2016 & 2017).

Outside of the high school league Carolyn has also coached for Frederick Volleyball Club where she coached the 15-2 (2015) and 16-2 (2016) club team.

Carolyn’s team motto is “One team enters and leaves together win, lose, draw”. Positive motivation is the key to continuous learning in all things in life.

Along with coaching at the high school and club levels, Carolyn is a Budget Officer at Fort Dietrick.
