The 16s traveled to Northern VA once again to compete in the NVVA Frostbite tournament on February 22. The tournament lived up to it’s name; in true die-hard volleyball fashion it was held despite the 10+ inch snowstorm the night before. A special thank you goes out to all our dedicated Cyclones parents and coaches who braved the roads to make this tournament happen!

The team continues to improve by leaps and bounds at each tournament. This particular tournament showed great strides in the areas of consistent hitting and serving. As Coach Dani put it, “This weekend’s tournament proves that we have the skills to be a championship team. What we have to prove to ourselves now is that we also have the mentality and mental toughness to be that championship team.”

The team played their way into the silver bracket, losing to Metro Central 16s in the semifinal. Next up is Carroll Vipers tournament on March 7th! Go Cyclones!
